How The Vista Started
The story of The Vista began over 20 years ago with a handful of colorful land speculators that believed in the City of Lenexa and the growth that would take place in Johnson County. At the turn of the century, 288 acres was purchased and so it all began.
In 2017, after 17 years of holding the assemblage, the vision of The Vista became a reality as West Star dedicated approximately 15 acres for right of way to The City of Lenexa enabling the extension of Ridgeview Road directly through the sizable tract. The beautiful 30 million-dollar Ridgeview Road extension by the City of Lenexa has given The Vista an opportunity to be one of the premier developments in the heart of Johnson County. At the beginning of 2020, ownership agreed to brand the 225 acres The Vista. The fitting name is due to the high-point along the topographical ridge next to K-10 overlooking the scenic valley northward created by the Mill Creek streamway, which now contains a wetlands park and a bike/hike trail-part of an extensive regional system.
As a family owned and operated company, West Star and our partners are proud to finally commence the development of the land we had retained for 20 + years. The Vista is able to offer a place for retail, office, multifamily, and much more, so we hope you will choose to be a part of our deep-rooted history as we work to create a destination for the greater Kansas City area!
